Olaf Duński, Architect SAR/MSA
I am interested in ship design, floating architecture and urban development in coastal regions. I have been involved in conceptual and detailed design on commissions ranging from new buildings and building extensions to commercial masterplans and urban development schemes. As an architect at Wester+Elsner I have worked on major projects in Stockholm, such as Bromma Blocks H5 and Scandinavian XPO, or development of Kvarteret Sigurd – a part of the waterfront district Mälarporten in Västerås.
During my training as a site engineer at SKANSKA, I was involved in the construction of the Green Horizon office complex designed by Medusa Group and built by SKANSKA in Lodz.
As a member of the architect team at Palerm y Tabares de Nava Arquitectos in Santa Cruz de Tenerife I worked on the project ‘ROMA 20-25: New Life Cycles for the Metropolis’, which was exhibited at MAXXI museum in Rome.
My academic background is in Architecture Engineering, combining Architecture and Civil Engineering. I graduated with a double diploma from Lodz University of Technology in Poland and Coventry University in the UK. I completed my Master’s Degree in Architecture at Lund University in Sweden, with specialization in Advanced Architectural Design.
Having both academic and practical experience in creating architectural designs within international context, I highly value work in a multicultural environment. Thanks to Lund University I had the opportunity to take part in the design workshop Zhangjiakou 2040 at Hebei University of Architecture in China, which aimed to create design proposals for the site around the historic train station in Zhangjiakou, one of the host cities of 2022 Winter Olympics.
I research new types of dwellings and urban layouts inspired by the interplay of land and water. To see a record of some of my adventures in pursuit of these interests, go to the top menu Trips and Courses!
